On behalf of our client, Sartorius, we are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented area sales manager for laboratory products in the Stockholm/Uppsala region. The right candidate will benefit from supreme quality products from a well-reputed international company, a strong portfolio, and a most professional organization with regard to technical experts and flexible solutions.

Sartorius now wishes to benefit from a stronger presence in the Nordic market. The future Nordic organization will consist of some 15 people, and the head office will be located in the Copenhagen area.

 

THE POSITION

The areas sales manager will report to the Laboratory sales manager and cooperate regionally and internationally with colleagues within technical service support, marketing and customer service. No staff will be reporting to the position.

 

You will work from your home office, but geographically you will primarily cover the Stockholm/Uppsala region, target group will be laboratory managers, QC managers and purchasing managers.

 

Main job function is to sell laboratory assigned products including consumables, instruments and weighing and measurement equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:         

  • customer meetings, product demonstrations and follow-up (80 % new business).
  • current planning and 3 months’ forecast.
  • look for and communicate sales leads and opportunities to other Sartorius business areas.
  • manage and proactively develop targeted accounts within your territory.
  • research and feedback market intelligence to appropriate business areas.
  • maintain product and industry knowledge by proactive research at all times.
  • attend sales and product training meetings (may occasionally involve weekends and nights away from home).

Performance will be measured on order intake and profit, but also on appointment making, product demonstrations, objection handling, product and market knowledge etc.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Ideal profile for the successful candidate:

  • some sales experience from either biotech, medicotech, pharmaceutical, food & beverage or chemical industry
  • well documented sales results from previous assignments
  • educational background that supports ability to cope with highly technical information.
  • at intermediate to advanced level in IT (Microsoft office)
  • excellent skills in English, oral and written
  • good business understanding and financial acumen
  • prepared to travel occasionally

Personal qualities:

  • a most competitive and results-oriented self starter
  • excellent at building relationships at all levels
  • able to structure own ‘pipeline’ disciplined
  • conscientious and organized with regard to follow-up and reporting
  • good negotiation skills and a flair for opportunities

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The compensation package is competitive and according to experience, it involves company car as well as bonus scheme and health insurance.

As soon as possible, not later than September 1st.
