BUSINESS AREA
The open position as ‘Business Development Director Europe’ is within the business area ‘Preclinical Services’.
The preclinical division of the company is driven by a mission to develop reliable and reproducible scientific data while maintaining a healthy balance between animal ethics, welfare and experimentation.

The experiments will be designed to generate adequate and robust data in exploratory and regulatory areas using both in vitro and in vivo models. Preclinical evaluation studies will be conducted in different modules as per the need of the sponsor in accordance with national and international guidelines (ICH and US FDA, OECD). Screening of NCEs using in vitro systems to facilitate lead optimization and lead identification and in vivo models like mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits through different routes for proof of principle, fast track kinetics and safety assessment with GLP compliance.
THE POSITION
The new Business Development Director Europe will be responsible for the development of the markets and for leading the Business Operations in Europe
In the company the Business Development Director will have a reference to a Vice President at the Headquarter.
The Business Development Director Europe will be responsible for the following areas:
- Segmentation of the market
- Evaluation and ranking of the potential customers
- Continuously be aware of new possibilities in the market
- Initiate cold callings and calling on prospect in order to build up new client relationships
- Meet the potential customers and generate qualified sales leads in the preclinical and molecular biology areas.
- Provide a clear, compelling and articulate explanation of the company’s value (USP) to prospective customer
- On a regular basis meet and cooperate with both the company’s back-end scientific organization as well as with the business development organization in order to learn and understand the core competencies of the company and the organization
- Prepare the marketing material to promote the business development activities
- Maintain the list of prospects and follow up with them on a regular basis
- Provide support to existing customers on a regular basis
- Participation in exhibitions in Europe
THE CANDIDATE
It is expected that the candidate holds a Master of Science and 3 years experience OR a PhD and 1 – 2 years experience in any biology related discipline.
A very good understanding of drug discovery and drug development is highly preferred.
It is also highly preferred if the candidate has some experience in selling CRO services in the preclinical area.
The candidate is very good in communication and he is good in building up close relationships to both customers and colleagues in the organization. It is important that the candidate has both strong interpersonal skills as well as presentation skills.
The candidate holds proactive skills and he has the ability to work independently and on his own.
The candidate must be located in the area of Copenhagen and must work from home.
In order develop and build up the business in Europe travel activities are estimated to +100 days per year.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The Salary level is attractive and it is divided into two components – Fixed salary and bonus.
